
Orange Post 5 Event Victories at Cornell

The Syracuse track and field teams picked up a number of event wins and added more PRs at the Kane Invitational at Cornell on Saturday.
Trei Thorogood won the 60-meter dash in 6.77 seconds. Daijon Richards also qualified for the finals, taking seventh in 7.07 seconds. He ran 0.02 seconds faster in the prelim. James Nmah (7.10) and Carlton Landingham (7.13) were 10th and 11th, respectively.
Kahniya James (second), Kaleia Arrington (third), Shaleah Colaire (fourth) and Peyton Rollins (sixth) led a deep group for the Orange women in the 60-meter dash. James' time of 7.49 seconds put her 0.02 seconds off the win, but Arrington (7.75), Colaire (7.77) and Rollins (7.83) all set new personal-best marks in the finals.
Colaire would also come away victorious in the 60-meter hurdles. She crossed the line in 8.53 seconds. Peyton Rollins (8.89), Kirstyn Schechter (9.10) and CJ Fox (9.26), also reached the finals, taking fifth, seventh and eighth. Sheridan McGadden (9.55) and Olivia Etienvre (9.65), finished in 11th and 15th. Etienvre's time was a personal best.
Jaheem Hayles led the Orange in the men's event, taking second (7.91 seconds), being nudged at the line by less than a hundredth of a second by Toronto's David Adeleye. Anthony Vazquez (8.06 seconds), and David Peters (8.12 seconds) were third and fourth, respectively. Naseem Smith narrowly missed the finals, finishing in 8.49 seconds.
Arrington won the 300-meter dash with her second PR of the afternoon, crossing the line in 40.57 seconds. Schechter (42.36) also set a PR in the event during a fourth-place finish. Ariel Haywood (45.29) took 13th.
Catriona McKeown (1:01.86) won the 400-meter dash in a personal best time. Kristine Krumpfer (1:04.52) also PRed in a ninth-place finish.
Alexander Segarra won the 800 in 1:58.42, two full seconds ahead of the field. Ryder Kriley (2:01.18) finished third with a personal-best time.
Lizzie Bigelow (5:16.47) was fourth in the mile, followed by Olivia Shattuck (5:28.96/8th). Both of whom set new personal-best times in the event. Lucy Zombek (5:49.77) and Madeline Lutz (5:55.09) also PRed.
After running in the 60-meter hurdles, Etienvre also took fifth in the high jump later in the meet, clearing 1.48 meters.
Nmah and Landingham  turned around and finished second and fifth, respectively, in the 200-meter dash. Nmah finished in 22.54 seconds, and Landingham ran a 22.91.Toronto's Emmett Bravakis (22.19) won the event. Haywood (28.45) raced for the 'Cuse women.
In addition to the races at Cornell, the 'Cuse men had a DMR team entered at the Bruce Lehane Invitational at Boston University. Kevin Robertson, Elijah Mallard, Ruben Rojas Betanzos and Karl Winter finished in 9:44.72, which placed them third.
The Orange are back in action again next weekend at the Clemson Tiger Paw Invitational and the David Hemery Valentine Invitational.
