SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse remains at No. 2 in the ILWomen/IWLCA women's lacrosse national rankings released on Monday, March 13. It marks the fourth consecutive week that the Orange have held down the second spot in the poll.

Syracuse extended its winning streak to seven with a 15-7 victory against No. 12 Notre Dame last Saturday. The Orange are now 7-0 overall, matching the best start in program history. The 2017 squad also began the year with seven straight wins.

Defending national champion North Carolina remains at No. 1. The Tar Heels earned 23 first-place votes, while the Orange received one. Northwestern comes in at No. 3, followed by Boston College and Stony Brook.

Loyola, Syracuse's opponent on Wednesday, is ranked No. 9, while Saturday's opponent, Duke, is No. 15 in this week's poll. The Orange have or will play six of the top 10 teams in the is week's rankings and 10 of the top 25.
