Both the Syracuse men's and women's cross country/track and field programs rank inside the top-20 of the USTFCCCA Program of the Year Standings, which released its post-indoor season update on Tuesday.
The Orange men came in at No. 15, with the women ranking No. 19. Syracuse is 1-of-12 teams in the country with both its men's and women's programs represented inside the top-20 of the rankings and one-of-three private schools to have the distinction (Stanford and BYU being the others).
That momentum continued on the track, when Jaheem Hayles and Amanda Vestri both scored at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and earned First Team All-America honors. Hayles took fourth in the 60-meter hurdles, the fourth SU hurdler to finish in the top-four of the event in the last 12 seasons. Vestri finished sixth in the 5000-meter run to collect her All-America status.
Syracuse is one-of-three teams in the ACC that has scored in every NCAA Championship event thus far, joining NC State and Virginia.

The USTFCCCA Program of the Year Award honors the institution that has achieved the most success in each academic year (spanning the cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field seasons) based on the institution's finish at the NCAA Championships.
In order to be eligible for the award, teams must qualify for each of the NCAA Championships. Scoring is based on the team's finish at each NCAA Championship in cross country, indoor track & field and outdoor track & field (i.e. 1st = 1 point, 2nd = 2 points … 31st = 31 points) with the lowest total score for all three championships combined determining the award winner. Ties among schools split points for positions taken.
'Cuse has scored at every NCAA Championship this season, beginning this fall when the men took 12th and the women finished 23rd at the NCAA Cross Country Championships. Led by Savannah Roark's All-American performance, the squads had their best finish in six seasons. That momentum continued on the track, when Jaheem Hayles and Amanda Vestri both scored at the NCAA Indoor Track and Field Championships and earned First Team All-America honors.
