
Tennis Appears In Top 25 For Second Straight Week

Syracuse tennis has shuffled to 22nd in this week's Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division I Women's Team Computerized Rankings, announced by the ITA on Tuesday afternoon.
No. 15 Virginia (9-3, 3-1 ACC) handed the Orange its first loss of the season, 2-4, on Friday afternoon. Syracuse (11-1, 4-1 ACC) returned to its winning ways with a 5-0 sweep of Coppin State (0-7) on Saturday and a 5-2 victory against a ranked Virginia Tech (8-5, 0-4 ACC) squad on Sunday.
Senior Zeynep Erman is nationally ranked among the Top 125 singles players by the ITA. This notes SU's first nationally ranked performer in the singles flight this season.
Eight opponents are in the top 30 nationally: No. 1 North Carolina (March 26), No. 5 NC State (March 31), No. 9 Duke (March 24), No. 11 Virginia (L, 4-2), No. 18 Miami (W, 5-2), No. 19 Wake Forest (April 2), No. 23 Notre Dame (April 14), and No. 26 Georgia Tech (March 19).
