Tennis Recognized By US Sports Camps

Syracuse tennis has earned recognition as one of the top five US Sports Camps Women's Teams over the month of February, announced by the ITA on Monday afternoon. The Orange won five straight in the month of February and were the only Division I team selected to the list.

February started with a 4-2 defeat of Drexel, followed by a 7-0 sweep of Buffalo for the squad. 'Cuse continued its winning ways in its first ACC match of the season with a 4-3 victory at Boston College. This three-game stretch included Polina Kozyreva going undefeated in every single one of her singles matches.

The 'Cuse finished the month with two consecutive wins over teams from the Sunshine State, which included a 4-3 defeat of Florida State on Feb. 24, followed by a 5-2 upset of then #23 Miami on Feb. 26. The victory over the Hurricanes marked the Orange's first ranked win since March 2021. Zeynep Erman earned her first win over a Top 25 singles opponent with her victory against #8 Alexa Noel in the Miami victory.

Head Coach Younes Liman's #22 nationally ranked team continues to succeed, with a 11-1, 4-1 ACC record so far this season. The Orange look to pick up more wins in their upcoming road trip to Clemson (March 17) and Georgia Tech (March 19.
