After an undefeated performance at the Lake Wheeler Invitational, the Syracuse varsity eight is the Atlantic Coast Conference Crew of the Week. The varsity eight beat #8 Penn, #14 Duke, #19 Iowa and four teams in the 'Also Receiving Votes' category. It is the second time this season that the Syracuse V8 has beaten Penn.
Â
"The varsity 8 is coming together. They have done a really nice job focusing on what they need to do to get faster since we lost to #3 Yale two weeks ago," said head coach Luke McGee. "They are finding their rhythm. This weekend at Lake Wheeler they built upon each race through the weekend and had a very mature approach. The third race was their best and it was against the fastest competition."
As a team, the Orange won 10 races at the two-day regatta.
Â
The Orange will race at the Eastern Sprints on Sunday, April 30 on Lake Quinsigamond in Worcester, Mass.
