Knight Earns ACC All-Freshmen Team Honors

Syracuse softball two-way star Madison Knight garnered Atlantic Coast Conference All-Freshmen team honors. Knight is just the second Orange to earn All-Freshmen team honors, joining fellow pitcher Alexa Romero.
In her first season under head coach Shannon Doepking, Knight has shined in the circle, leading the team in earned run average (3.02), innings pitched (140.1) and strikeouts (124). On April 8, Knight tossed the 11th no-hitter in program history, joining her pitching coach Sydney O'Hara, Jenna Caira and Tara DiMaggio as Syracuse freshmen to throw a no-hitter.
At the plate, Knight showcases her two-way ability, ranking second in runs batted in (25), second in slugging percentage (.440) and tied for second in home runs (3).
Knight looks to lead the Orange past Virginia in the first round of the ACC Tournament on Wednesday, May 10 at 1 p.m. in South Bend, Indiana. Fans can watch all the action on ACC Network.
