
24 Orange Honored on ACC All-Academic Squad

Twenty-four members of the Syracuse track and field programs were honored for their academic success, in addition to their competitive accomplishments this year, garnering All-ACC Academic accolades.
The selections were split evenly between the two programs, with 12 men and 12 women earning the honor. The academic success continues an outstanding season for the Orange track and field programs, which scored at each of the six NCAA Championships between men's and women's cross country and track and field seasons. Both programs finished inside the top-20 of the final USTFCCCA Program of the Year standings for the first time in five years, and 'Cuse was represented with at least one All-American in five of the six competitions.
Academic requirements for selection to the team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. In addition, student-athletes must have competed in the ACC Outdoor Track and Field Championships and/or the NCAA Outdoor Championships during the most recent season.
Syracuse's men's honorees were: Noah Carey (TV, radio and film), Alex Comerford (applied data science), Silas Derfel (exercise science), Assaf Harari (mechanical engineering), Nathan Henderson (medicolegal death investigation), Paul O'Donnell (finance), Xayvion Perkins (political science), Kevin Robertson (computer engineering), Ethan Weschler (political science), Jack Whetstone (public administration) and Karl Winter (broadcast and digital journalism).
The Orange's women's honorees were: Kaleia Arrington (graphic design), Ivy Gonzalez (speech pathology), Sophia Jacobs-Townsley (international relations), Olivia Joly (psychology), Caroline Kirby (public health), Shanley Koekemoer (accounting), Ellie Lawler (mechanical and aerospace engineering), Shona McCulloch (public health), Peyton Rollins (finance), Kirstyn Schechter (sport management), Abigail Spiers (environmental engineering) and Amanda Vestri (intercollegiate advising and support).
