
Current, Future Orange Invited to U20 Tryouts

SPARKS, Md. – Syracuse will be well represented at tryouts for the 2024 U.S. Women's U20 National Team hosted by USA Lacrosse at its headquarters in Sparks, Maryland July 7-9. The tryouts are in preparation for the world championship which will be held in Hong Kong, China in August 2024.

Orange rising sophomores Gracie Britton, Superia Clark and Jordan Deblasio are among the nearly 100 players invited to the tryout. In addition, incoming freshmen Carly Desimone and Alexa Vogelman will take part in the three-day event.

Britton, Clark and Deblasio were part of a Syracuse squad that advanced to the national semifinals in 2023. The Orange started the season with 15 consecutive victories to tie the program record for longest winning streak. Britton played in eight games in her freshman campaign and scored two goals. Clark and Deblasio helped the Syracuse defense hold its opponent to 10 or less goals 13 times in 2023. Clark was one of two freshmen to start every game and recorded 13 ground balls, four caused turnovers and four draw controls. Deblasio played in 18 games and picked up one ground ball.

The U.S. U19 women won five of the seven world championships conducted by World Lacrosse from 1995 through 2019. World Lacrosse has since adjusted the age groupings for this championship up to the U20 age level.
