Amanda Vestri can add one more All-American performance to her collegiate resume.
In her final race, she took seventh in the 10,000-meter run at the NCAA Championships on Thursday, earning First Team All-America honors. It's her fourth All-America finish on the track in her collegiate career, including her second first team performance, after she also finished in the scoring at this year's indoor championship in the 5k.
Vestri spent much of the race near the top of the field, answering all early moves from her competition. Near the midway point of the race, a lead pack of nine runners broke off, which Vestri was in the middle of. With just over a mile remaining in the race, five runners broke away further, leaving Vestri in the chase group. Everlyn Kemboi win the title in a facility record time of 32:39.08.
Vestri was the top-finisher out of the ACC, crossing the line in 33:11.69.
While the Orange are done with scoring opportunities on the women's side, they wrap up the second day of the meet in 24th place overall, with the second-highest point tally from the conference. Regardless of the final outcome, 'Cuse has now scored at every NCAA Championships this year in the women's field for the first time since the 2017-18 academic year.
The men have two chances to try to accomplish the same on Friday night. Jaheem Hayles (110-meter hurdles) and Kevin Robertson (3,000-meter steeplechase) will each race in the NCAA final of their respective event. Those events will be back-to-back beginning at 8:24 p.m. on ESPN2.
