ORANGE OPENS 134th GRIDIRON CAMPAIGN AGAINST COLGATE
• Syracuse opens the season in the JMA Wireless Dome vs. Colgate on Sept. 2
• The game will air on ACC Network Extra, with Jorge Sedano (PxP), Orlando Franklin (analyst) and Marilyn Payne (reporter) on the call.
• The Orange start the season against an FCS opponent for the first time since 2017.
• Syracuse is going for its ninth win in the last 10 years in its season opener. The 2020 road opener at North Carolina is the lone exception in the previous nine years.
• Head coach Dino Babers starts his eighth season on the sidelines for the Orange and looks to lead the team to a second-straight bowl appearance after a trip to the Bad Boy Mowers Pinstripe Bowl in 2022.
• The game is a rematch of Babers' first game on the SU sidelines, where Syracuse bested Colgate 33-7 in 2016.
