9/26/2023 11:51:00 AM | Women's Basketball
The 2023-24 Syracuse University women's basketball season is around the corner. The Orange held their first official practice of the season on Tuesday morning at the Carmelo K. Anthony Basketball Center.
Syracuse began practice with a series of defensive drills and slides before splitting into groups for individual position work. The Orange practiced half-court defensive sets and went through a series of shooting drills before completing practice with the traditional free throw ladder. The Orange return four starters from last season and welcome five new faces to the crowd including graduate transfers Dominique Camp and Izabel Varejao. Twelve of Syracuse's 13 team members were at practice Tuesday morning. Fifth year guard Dyaisha Fair was not in attendance as she is currently in Poland for the 3x3 U23 World Cup where she will represent USA Basketball Sept. 27-Oct. 1.Â
The first chance to see the Orange live in action is Oct. 13 at the JMA Wireless Dome for Orange Tip-Off, the second-year fan event that is free to the public and Syracuse University students. The second annual Monroe Madness is scheduled for Oct. 21 from 6-8 p.m. at Blue Cross Arena in downtown Rochester. Tickets for both events are available here.Â
Second year head coach Felisha Legette-Jack and her squad will tip-off the season with an exhibition game on Tuesday, Oct. 31 in the JMA Dome against the College of Saint Rose. The season officially begins on Nov. 7 when 'Cuse welcomes Lafayette to the Dome for a 7 p.m. tip on ACCNX.Â
The 2023-24 Atlantic Coast Conference schedule will be announced Tuesday night live on ACC Network. Fans are encouraged to tune in at 7 p.m. for the announcement.Â
