Women's Basketball Ranked #22 in AP Top-25

The Syracuse women's basketball team re-entered the Associated Press (AP) Top-25 Poll at #22 this week. The Orange are off to their best start (16-2) since the 2012-13 season and is 6-1 in the Atlantic Coast Conference for the first time since joining the league. 'Cuse was first ranked in the Week 9 Poll (#25) but dropped out the following week.Â
The Orange have won five-straight games and have a stretch of three top-25 opponents looming in the future. Syracuse travels to No. 15 Notre Dame on Thursday (7 p.m., ACCNX) before returning home to host #19 Virginia Tech (12 p.m., ACC Network) on Sunday, Jan. 28. Next week 'Cuse will take a swing trip to #18 Louisville on Thursday before continuing on to Boston College for the second matchup with the Eagles this season on Sunday, Feb. 3.Â
Syracuse is 11-0 at the JMA Wireless Dome this season and has won 15-straight games at home.Â
The Orange were ranked No. 25 in the USA Today/WBCA Coaches Poll last week. New rankings for the Coaches Poll get released on Tuesdays. ESPN's Charlie Creme has Syracuse projected as a 6-seed in the NCAA Tournament field in his latest edition of Bracketology (Jan. 19).Â
