Linebacker Justin Barron and wide receiver Jackson Meeks helped lift the Orange to a win at NC State on Saturday and have been honored as ACC Players of the Week at their respective positions for the performance.
Barron, who earned ACC Linebacker of the Week, had two takeaways in Saturday's 24-17 win in Raleigh. Both takeaways led to offensive scores on the ensuing possession. He recovered a fumble in the first half and notched his second career interception, which he returned 41 yards, after intermission. He finished as the team's leading tackler (8), notched two tackles for loss and a sack in the game. He also had a pass breakup and a quarterback hurry.
Meeks, who earned ACC Receiver of the Week for the second time in the last three weeks, notched a career-high 11 catches in the contest. He finished with 116 yards and a touchdown. Meeks has recorded 8+ receptions in three-straight games, including double-digit efforts against Holy Cross (10) and NC State. He has scored a touchdown in four-straight contests.
The Orange are on a bye this week, but return to action on Thursday, Oct. 24 at No. 20 Pittsburgh. The Orange are seeking their third win over a ranked opponent this season, which would be the first time in 26 years that 'Cuse has bested three teams in the AP Poll at the time of their meeting. Tickets for the three remaining home games on the Orange's slate are available now at Cuse.com/Tickets.
