
Orange Drop Series Opener at Quinnipiac

HAMDEN, Conn.- Syracuse University women's ice hockey dropped game one of the No.10 Quinnipiac series in a 4-0 decision on Friday evening at M&T Bank Arena.
Syracuse (2-4-0) could not find the back of the net in 60 minutes of play. Allie Kelley made 41 saves on the night and tied her season high, matching her total from the St. Lawrence game (Oct. 8).
No. 10 Quinnipiac (5-2-0) scored three goals within five minutes in the first period from Laurence Frenette, Maya Labad, and Maddy Samoskevich with a power play goal. Zoe Uens scored an unassisted goal in the second period for the Bobcats. Goalkeeper Felicia Frank finished the game with seven saves.

How it Happened
- The Bobcats scored at 12:13 in the first period with a power play goal by Samoskevich assisted by Aynsley D'Ottavio and Kendall Cooper.
- At the 16:40 mark, Quinnipiac's Labad potted an even strength goal with a feed from Bryn Prier and Makayla Watson.
- Less than a minute later, Frenette scored a goal and Tessa Holk collected the assist to preserve the 3-0 Quinnipiac lead to end the first period.
- In the second period, the Orange more than tripled the amount of shots attempted than in the first period, taking 10 chances.
- At the 17:56 mark, Uens netted an unassisted goal to increase the Bobcats lead to four.
- Kelley finished the second period with 14 saves.
- Syracuse's Charli Kettyle blocked the Bobcats first shot of the third period as Quinnipiac attempted to capitalize on a powerplay.
- The Bobcats reeled off 18 more shots but could not get the puck through as the game wrapped up 4-0 for Quinnipiac.
