- Let's try this again. After last weekend's season-opening series at Minnesota Duluth was postponed until January after Syracuse's travel plans were altered due to Hurricane Helene, the Orrange *officially* open the 2024-25 campaign with a home game.
- Syracuse will host Stonehill for a weekend series Friday and Saturday at Tennity Ice Pavilion. Game times are set for 5:30 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
- Britni Smith begins her third season at the helm of the program, joined by assistant coaches Heather Farrell and Megan Quinn '18, who have been alongside Smith since her arrival in 2022-23. Nick Harper joined the program as the goaltenders coach last fall.
- The 17th year of Syracuse ice hockey now begins at home, ending a four-year run in which the Orange opened the season on the road. The last time Syracuse began a season at Tennity was during the 2019-20 campaign.
- Saturday's game will be carried on FloHockey.

- This past spring it was announced that the Atlantic Hockey Association and College Hockey America would come under the same umbrella: Atlantic Hockey America.
- College Hockey America debuted for women's ice hockey in 2002, and shared administrative operations with Atlantic Hockey since 2010.
- On the women's side, Atlantic Hockey America currently boasts six NCAA Division I teams: Syracuse, Lindenwood, Mercyhurst, Penn State, RIT, and Robert Morris. In 2025-26, the University of Delaware will join Atlantic Hockey America as the Fighting Blue Hens add Division I women's ice hockey to its varsity lineup.

Welcome, Emmy!
- Syracuse ice hockey head coach Britni Smith and her 2024-25 squad are honored to announce Emelia "Emmy" Phillips to the program in partnership with Team IMPACT.
- Signing a "National Letter of Intent" Emmy and her family will be paired with Syracuse ice hockey throughout the season and was a key part of the official 2024-25 team photo and content day festivities.
- This is the 10th year Syracuse and Team IMPACT have enjoyed their partnership and is the 13th match between programs.
- Emmy, age 5, was diagnosed with spina bifida and CASK genetic disorder. Emmy was joined at the signing day by her parents, Christine and Matt, and her sister Anderson.
Earning a Letter
- Prior to the 2024-25 season opener, head coach Britni Smith announced the team captains and assistant captains for the season.
- Graduate student Tatum White was selected as a team captain for a second year, while netminder Allie Kelley will join her with a C.
- Maya D'Arcy, Heidi Knoll, and Charli Kettyle were selected as assistant captains. It will be the first time wearing a letter at Syracuse for the trio of assistant captains.
