SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Four different players found the back of the net for Syracuse University women's ice hockey as the Orange picked up a 4-0 win over Stonehill Friday night at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
Jackson Kinsler lit the lamp just 68 seconds into her first career game with the Orange, while Jessica Cheung finished with two points, tallying her first collegiate goal and assisting Tatum White on the power play. Maya D'Arcy added a goal late in the third period to season the win for Syracuse (1-0-0).
Stonehill (0-2-0) got 37 saves from netminder Alexsa Caron, including 18 in a very busy second period. She added another 12 in the third as well. Maddison Achtyl and Lily Geist took four shots each to lead the Skyhawks offensive chances.
How it Happened
I'm really excited about our start. One of the things we've focused a lot on is being consistent in our play and making sure we come out hard to start every game and it was nice to see that in the first game of the season.

- Syracuse showed how quickly it has gelled this season as D'Arcy got her first of the year with another set of fresh faces, Bryn Saarela and Peyton Armstong, getting the assists. D'Arcy put the game out of reach with the fourth and final goal of the day at 18:11 of the third.
