Orange Fall in AHA Opener at Penn State

UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – Syracuse University women's ice hockey dropped game one of Atlantic Hockey America play at No. 12 Penn State in a 3-2 overtime decision Thursday night at Pegula Ice Arena.
Syracuse (2-8-0) got its first goal from by Tatum White to tie the game in the second period. Nea Tervonen scored her first goal of the season, assisted by Jocelyn Fiala and Klára Jandušíková in the second period. Allie Kelley finished with 34 saves.
No. 12 Penn State (8-3-0) scored first with a goal by Kendall Butze from Alyssa Machado and Nicole Hall. Maddy Christian launched the puck into the net on a powerplay, assisted by Leah Stecker in the third period to advance the game into overtime. Brianna Brooks scored the game-winning goal with a feed from Stecker. Katie DeSa stopped 14 shots.

- In the third period, the Nittany Lions took advantage of a power play, as Christian scored to even the game and push into overtime.
