The Orange and Terrapins meet for the seventh time in program history on Wednesday in a rematch from the thriller in College Park a year ago. In last year's early-season contest, #18 Maryland escaped with the 83-81 victory over 'Cuse. Georgia Woolley had a team-leading 21 points in the road loss. Syracuse is 0-6 all-time against the Terps.
'Cuse enters this Wednesday's matchup after suffering a loss at home to Saint Joseph's on Sunday, 84-70. Georgia Woolley (19 points) and Sophie Burrows (14 points) led the Orange in scoring in a game that ended a 27-game nonconference home winning streak for the Orange that dated back to Nov. 2019 against #1 Oregon.
Maryland travels to the Loud House after an upset of No. 11 Duke on Sunday at home, 85-80. The Terps led by as many as 15 points in the contest, with four players scoring over double figures led by Kaylene Smikle with 23 points. Maryland is 3-0 to start the season for the first time since the 2021-22 season. The Terps jumped seven spots in this week's AP Top-25 Poll from No. 18 last week to No. 11 this week.
