Puck Drop
-The Orange return to the ice on Friday and Saturady to face RIT for their second series in AHA conference play and second home-away series this season.Â
- Friday's game will be streamed on FloHockey from Tennity Ice Pavilion. Puck drop on Friday is set for 6 p.m.Â
- Syracuse will travel to Rochester on Saturday for game two at the Gene Polisseni Center at 3 p.m.
- With a 11-9-2 road record versus RIT and a 18-4-2 record at home against the Tigers, the Orange are prepared for either environment.Â
- The Orange did not play last week but were last in action during an away series on Oct.31- Nov 1. They fought #12 Penn State in two valiant games, an overtime loss of 2-3 and a gritty 2-5 loss.Â
Can't Score Without the Puck
-Scoring without the puck is never easy, and the Orange have performed well in the circles thus far in 2024–25.
-Syracuse has won 286 of its 582 faceoffs this year, a 49.1 percent clip. Syracuse is ranked No. 24 in the country for team faceoff win percentage.
-Thanks to their victories in the draws, the Orange are now in the low 30s in both scoring defense (31), giving up just 2.56 goals per game, and scoring offense (33), scoring 1.82 goals per game.
- Tatum White is ranked in the top 30 nationally in faceoff wins. White has won 113 total and is ranked 19th for power play goals entering the weekend.
- Syracuse has out-dueled opponents at the faceoff circle in five of nine games to date this season.
Hockey Fights Cancer Game
- Friday will be Syracuse's annual Hockey Fights Cancer game.
- Fans are encouraged to wear purple in support of those fighting against cancer.
- Prior to the game, there will be a ceremonial puck drop near the Syracuse bench.
- The Orange are also raising funds for the American Cancer Society through Hockey Fights Cancer.
