
Orange Clash with Upstate Foe UAlbany Wednesday

Syracuse women's basketball (2-2) takes on UAlbany (3-0) to close their season-opening five-game home stand this Wednesday night, Nov. 20. Tip-off inside the JMA Wireless Dome is set for 7 PM, streaming live on ACC Network Extra through the ESPN app or online.

'Cuse returned to the victory column on Sunday afternoon, defeating FDU, 77-58, in a game that saw three Orange players score double figures and 11-of-13 players to touch the floor record points for SU. Kyra Wood (12 points) led the team in scoring for the second game this season, backed up by Sophie Burrows (11 points) and Izabel Varejao (10 points).

UAlbany travels west on the heels of a 61-49 victory over Sacred Heart to start the season 3-0. The Great Danes' leading scorer, graduate student Kayla Cooper, matched her career-high in points with 26, along with eight rebounds and three steals in the contest. Senior Laycee Drake also matched her scoring career-high with 16 points in the contest.

Wednesday's game will be the seventh matchup all-time between the Orange and the Great Danes. SU leads the series 6-0 all time, most recently taking an 87-64 victory on Dec. 20, 2022. Five of the six previous meetings have been played in Syracuse.
