Puck Drop
-Syracuse continues AHA conference play with a trip to Maryland Heights, Missouri to face Lindenwood on Friday at 5 p.m.Â
-The first series of the season against the Lions concludes on Saturday with a 2 p.m. puck drop.Â
-Both games will be carried on FloHockey from Lindenwood Ice Arena. Live stats will be available on Lindenwoodlions.com.Â
- The Orange return to the ice after sweeping RIT, including a 1-0 shutout victory. Bryn Saarela recodred her first multi-score performance in a Syracuse uniform, scoring twice in game one of the series. The Syracuse offense captured it's first short-handed score of the season. Tennity Ice Pavilion set a new season attendance record on November 15 with the highest crowd of the year. In game two, Celia Wiegand set a new career high with seven blocks and the Orange recorded it's third shutout of the season.
- Syracuse and Lindenwood have not met since January 29,2022. Friday will mark the 36th meeting between the two teams.Â
-With a 13-3-1 road record against the Lions the Orange are prepared for the opposing environment.Â
- The Orange and the Lions will reverse locations when they meet again on January 31 and February 1st at the Tennity Ice Pavilion.Â
Can't Score Without the Puck
-Scoring without the puck is never easy, and the Orange have performed well in the circles thus far in 2024–25.
-Syracuse has won 336 of its 684 faceoffs this year, boasting a 49.1 percent win rate. The team ranks No. 24 nationally in faceoff win percentage.
-Thanks to their victories in the draws, the Orange are now in the mid 20s in scoring defense (25), giving up just 2.5 goals per game.Â
On offense, they rank No. 33, scoring an average of 1.9 goals per game.
- Tatum White is ranked in the top 20 nationally in faceoff wins. White has won 131 total and is ranked 23th for power play goals entering the weekend.
- Syracuse has out-dueled opponents at the faceoff circle in six of ten games to date this season.

- Graduate student and captain Tatum White is one of the program's all-timers in the faceoff circle.
- Since the 2020-21 season, White has won 993 draws, ranking sixth all-time in program history. She is just 14 wins away from moving into the top five, with Stefanie Marty (2008-11) occupying fifth with 1,006 faceoff wins.
- White averages over 200 faceoff wins per year, which would put her well over 1,000 for her time in the Block S, with a potential chance at number four (Margot Scharfe | 1,139).
- Allie Kelley continues to storm up the Syracuse all-time career saves record. Her 1,519 saves are currently eighth all-time in program history. Kelley is now in seventh all-time in program history and is closing in on Jenesica Drinkwater (1,573) in sixth and Arielle DeSmet (1,622) in fifth all-time at Syracuse.Â
- Kelley is the active career saves leader with 3,742 including her time at Quinnipiac and St. Anslem. She is currently 4th all-time in NCAA history.
