
Orange Open Emerald Coast Classic vs. Missouri Monday Night

Syracuse women's basketball (2-3) travels to Destin, FL this Thanksgiving week for the inaugural women's Emerald Coast Classic. The Orange will compete in the Beach Bracket alongside Missouri, Creighton, and Wichita State. 'Cuse opens competition on Monday, Nov 25, at 6 p.m. against Missouri. SU will then take on either Creighton or Wichita State on Tuesday, Nov 26, time TBA. Stats will be updated to cuse.com throughout the tournament. Fans unable to make the trip to the Sunshine State can watch live on FloHoops.
Syracuse looks to bounce back from Wednesday's 73-70 loss to Ualbany in its first road game of the season Monday night. Georgia Woolley recorded the first 20+ point performance by an Orange player this season with 23 points in the loss to UAlbany. Syracuse defeated Niagara and FDU during its five-game home stand, while losing to UAlbany, No. 11 Maryland, and Saint Joseph's.
Syracuse and Missouri will face each other for the first time on Monday.
Missouri is 5-2 on the season, most recently taking a 78-49 win over Little Rock at home. They were led by Nyah Wilson and Grace Slaughter who each had 19 points. Creighton is 2-2 on the season, last playing No. 21 Nebraska in an 80-74 win before traveling to Florida. Wichita State is 2-3 for the year, losing at home against No. 9 Oklahoma, 79-49, before making the trip to the Emerald Coast Classic.
The Emerald Coast Classic started as a men's college basketball tournament in 2014, hosting eight teams on the campus of Northwest Florida State College. 2024 marks the inaugural year of their women's basketball tournament, before returning to a men's tournament during Thanksgiving week in 2025. This year is Syracuse's first time visiting the Emerald Coast Classic for either the men's or women's teams.
