Orange Drop 86-59 Decision to Creighton in Emerald Coast Classic Finale

Syracuse women's basketball (3-4) dropped an 86-59 decision to Creighton (4-2) on Tuesday night in the championship game of the Beach Bracket at the Emerald Coast Classic in Destin, Fla.
Keira Scott led the Orange in scoring with 11 points, shooting 4-of-9 from the field and a perfect 2-of-2 from the free throw line. Georgia Woolley and Izabel Varejão followed with eight points each. In total, 11 of the 13 Syracuse players who saw action contributed points in the game.
Creighton was led by Morgan Maly and Lauren Jenson, who net 28 and 21 points, respectively. Â
After their performances in Syracuse's two games in Florida, Kyra Wood and Woolley were named to the event's All-Tournament Team. They were joined by the Bluejay's Jenson, who was also honored as Most Outstanding Player, and Maly, as well as Grace Slaughter of Missouri.
HOW IT HAPPENED
Creighton opened the game strong with seven three-pointers, building a 29-9 lead after the first quarter. The Bluejays extended their advantage by outscoring 'Cuse 26-12 in the second quarter, leading 55-21 at halftime. Syracuse battled in the third, matching Creighton's 19 points, but trailed 74-40 entering the final quarter. In the final frame of play, 'Cuse outscored the Bluejays, 19-12, but ultimately fell, 86-59.

The Orange return to Central New York this Sunday, Dec. 1 to host Yale for a 12 p.m. tipoff at the JMA Wireless Dome. The game will also be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
