Syracuse women's basketball starts the 2024-25 regular season Tuesday, Nov. 5, against Niagara University inside the JMA Wireless Dome at 7 p.m. The game will be streamed live on ACCNX through the ESPN.com or the ESPN App.
The Orange took care of business in their lone exhibition game last week, besting Daemen (DII), 90-50, on the heels of three Orange players scoring 16 points apiece. Senior Kyra Wood recorded a first-half double-double, netting 10 points and grabbing 11 rebounds en route to finishing with 16 points and a team-high 14 boards.
Niagara travels to the Dome after an exhibition win of their own over Roberts Wesleyan, 82-41, on Wednesday, Oct. 30, in a game that saw the Purple Eagles force 65 turnovers. NU was picked to finish tied for third place in the MAAC Conference in the league's preseason poll after a 2023-24 campaign that ended in the WNIT Second Round.
The Orange and Purple Eagles will meet for the 16th time in the history of these programs, with SU holding the overall record 11-4. The last meeting between the two teams was Dec. 17, 2018, inside the Loud House, with 'Cuse taking the victory 94-45.
Syracuse looks to extend its home nonconference win streak to 27-games which dates back to a November 2019 loss to Oregon at the Dome.
Fans unable to make it to the game can stream live on ACC Network Extra online or through the ESPN app. Live stats will be available on cuse.com.
