ORANGE TRAVEL TO CHESTNUT HILL SATURDAY
• Syracuse will play its fourth road game in its last five contests when it visits Boston College.
• The game will air on The CW, with Thom Brennaman (PxP), Max Browne (analyst) and Treavor Scales (reporter) on the call.Â
FAMILIAR FOE
• Syracuse has faced two of its top-five most frequent opponents in the last three weeks, including Saturday against Boston College.
• The Orange take on the Eagles for the 58th time, which is the fifth-most games against any opponent in program history.Â
• The series between Syracuse and Boston College dates back to the 1924 season.
GOING BOWLING
• Syracuse is bowl eligible for the third-straight season, which is the first time this century that the Orange will have played in three-straight bowl games.
• The last time the Orange reached a bowl game in three-plus seasons was 1995-99.
• Heading into week 11 of the college football season, there are only 53 teams with an active possibility of having reached bowl eligibility in each of the last-three seasons (excludes Minnesota, San Jose State and Rice who received bowl invites with a 5-7 record in that span). Seven of those remaining 53 teams already have six losses, so the number will likely decrease as the season continues.
ALLEN SETS SCHOOL RECORDS
• RB LeQuint Allen Jr. set a pair of school records in Syracuse's win against Virginia Tech.Â
• He caught five passes against the Hokies, increasing his career total to 97. That is the highest total for a 'Cuse running back in school history. Allen surpassed the previous record of 92 held by Antwon Bailey (2008-11).
• Allen has caught at least one pass in 20-straight games, which is the longest current streak for the Orange. That total ranks tied for ninth on Syracuse's record list.
• He has 42 receptions this season, which is also a school record for most catches by a running back in a season.Â
• Allen moved into third place on the career reception yards by a running back ledger with his performance against the Hokies, moving past Sean Tucker (622, 2020-23) and Duane Kinnon (629, 1988-90), ending the day with 638. Antwon Bailey holds the record with 706 (2008-11).
• Allen is one of 11 FBS running backs who have three or more receiving touchdowns in 2024.
• He ranks eighth in the ACC, averaging 114.13  all-purpose yards per game. Of that group, he is one of only three players who does not have a kickoff or punt return.
WAX ON, WAX OFF
• LB Marlowe Wax returned to the Syracuse lineup at Pittsburgh after missing four games due to a lower body injury suffered against Georgia Tech.
• He has led the Orange in tackles the past two seasons, posting a career-high 110 in 2023.
• He forced a fumble against Virginia Tech to increase his career total to 10. He is just the second Syracuse player to cause 10 or more fumbles. He ranks second on the Orange's career record list for forced fumbles, trailing just Hall of Fame defensive end Dwight Freeney (14).
• Against Purdue in 2023, he became the first member of the Orange to force two fumbles and record an interception in a game since Dave Rebar in 1994 against Rutgers.
• He is on the Bednarik, Maxwell and Lott IMPACT Trophy watch lists.
CLIMBING THE CHARTS
• LB Marlowe Wax is placing his name among the all-time greats of Syracuse football.
• In addition to his rise on the forced fumbles list, Wax has now recorded 41 career tackles for loss, which ranks second all-time at Syracuse behind Dwight Freeney's 50.5.
• With nine stops against Pittsburgh, Wax now has 338 tackles. He ranks 11th for tackles by a linebacker at Syracuse.
SERIES HISTORY
• Syracuse and Boston College will meet for the 58th time. The Orange lead the all-time series, 34-23.
• 'Cuse travels to Chestnut Hill for just the second time since 2019.
• The squads met every year from 1969-2004. Fourteen of those contests (1991-2004) were played while both schools were members of The BIG EAST Conference.
• Syracuse has won six of the 11 games played since the Orange joined the ACC in 2013.
A WIN WOULD …Â
• Give the Orange a 4-2 record in league play. It would match 'Cuse's best mark through six league games since joining the ACC in 2013.
• Give Syracuse its 761st all-time victory (includes 11 wins from 2004-06 that were vacated by the NCAA). The Orange currently rank 21st on the FBS ledger of winningest programs. Syracuse is one of 34 FBS schools to have accumulated 700+ wins.
