12/3/2024 11:23:00 AM | Women's Basketball
Syracuse women's basketball (4-4) travels to College Station, Texas, to take on Texas A&M (4-4) this Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the SEC/ACC Challenge. Tip-off inside the Reed Arena is scheduled for 7:15 PM (6:15 CT) and will be televised nationally live on ESPNU.
Â
The Orange moved to 4-4 Sunday with a win at home against Yale, 78-50. Izabel Varejao recorded her first career-double with 12 points and 11 rebounds, while Georgia Woolley led the team in scoring for the fifth time this season with 15 points. SU's 28-point margin of victory is their largest of the season and all 13 members of the Orange roster saw action.
Â
Texas A&M enters the matchup against the Orange after more than a week away from competition. The Aggies most recently played in the Bad Boy Mowers Battle 4 Atlantis tournament over Thanksgiving Week, going 1-2 in three days of competition. TAMU dropped their first two games to Villanova and Ball State before bouncing back to beat Southern Miss, 79-57, in their last game of the tournament.
Â
The Orange and the Aggies will meet on the court for the fourth time in program history, and the first time in a non-neutral site. The last met in Nov. of 2018, where the No. 18 Orange held off a rallying No. 20 TAMU squad in the fourth quarter to take a 75-65 win in White Plains, NY. SU and Texas A&M met during the 2013-14 and 2016-17 seasons as well at neutral site holiday tournaments.
Â
Fans unable to attend the game can tune in on ESPNU, while live stats will be available on cuse.com.
