Fair Scores 28 Points in ACC Road Loss

Fifth-year guard Dyaisha Fair moved to sixth all-time on the NCAA Division I women's basketball scoring list as No. 21 Syracuse women's basketball lost to No. 16 Louisville, 81-69, Thursday night inside the KFC Yum! Center in Louisville, Ky. The Orange are now 17-4 on the season and 7-3 in Atlantic Coast Conference play while the Cardinals improve to 19-3 overall and 8-1 in league action.

Scoring a game-best 28 points, Fair passed Jerica Coley, FIU (3,107), Lorri Bauman, Drake (3,115) and Patricia Hoskins, Miss. Valley St. (3,122) on Thursday. Fair now has 3,129 career points, with 1,094 coming at Syracuse. Fair is now 154 points behind Brittney Griner, Baylor (3,283), and remains second among active players in all three NCAA Divisions behind Caitlin Clark, Iowa (3,424).

Fair led in points for the Orange, with junior Georgia Woolley (15) and graduate student Alaina Rice (14) also scoring in double figures. Junior Saniaa Wilson paced Syracuse in boards with eight.

HOW IT HAPPENED
Louisville opened the second quarter on a 14-2 run to take a 30-23 lead with 4:15 remaining in the half. The Orange and the Cardinals would trade runs for the rest of the quarter, with Louisville heading into halftime with ahead, 40-34. The Cardinals would not lead by less than five points for the rest of the game, leading by as much as 15 points in the fourth quarter.
