SYRACUSE, N.Y. – Syracuse women's lacrosse holds steady at No. 5 in this week's ILWomen/IWLCA rankings.

The Orange opened the season last Saturday with an 18-15 setback at No. 1 Northwestern. The Wildcats remain the top-ranked team in the nation, garnering all 25 first-place votes. Boston College is No. 2 for the second-straight week, while James Madison moved up three spots to No. 3. Denver remained at No. 4.

Syracuse will host a pair of top 20 teams this week. The Orange take on No. 18 Army on Wednesday, Feb. 17 at 4 p.m. in their home opener, before hosting No. 9 Maryland on Saturday, Feb. 17 at noon.
