Syracuse will face Georgia Tech for the 18th time on Saturday. The Orange own a slight edge, 9-8, in the series versus the Yellow Jackets. Last season, the squads split the home-and-home series, each winning as visitors. Georgia Tech took the last matchup, 96-76, on Feb. 28, 2023. Syracuse won the affair before that, 80-63, on Jan. 21, 2023.

The Orange avenged a 103-67 defeat on January 13 against the Tar Heels by taking down #7/5 North Carolina, 86-79, in the Dome this past Tuesday. The victory marked the first time Syracuse defeated a top 10 ranked team since beating #1 Duke, 95-91, in overtime on Jan. 14, 2019.

The Orange converted 30-of-48 (.625) shots from the field in the contest, the program's best percentage since shooting .715 (45-of-63) in a win against DePaul in 2011. The sophomore backcourt pair of J.J. Starling (25 points) and Judah Mintz (23) combined for 48 of Syracuse's 86 points. Sophomores Maliq Brown, a center, and forward Chris Bell contributed 14 and 13 points, respectively.

Over the last nine games, Starling has averaged 18.4 points per game while Mintz has produced 18.1 points per outing. Mintz sits at fourth in the ACC in scoring average with 18.4 points per game this season. He ranks among the top 10 in Division I for free throws made (eighth, 164) and attempted (sixth, 218). Bell is also averaging double-digit scoring with 11.4 points per outing. Brown (9.4 ppg.) leads the squad in rebound average with 6.8 boards per affair.

Georgia Tech has three performers who average double-digit scoring: junior guard Miles Kelly (14.8 ppg.), freshman forward Baye Ndongo (11.8) and junior guard Kowacie Reeves Jr. (10.4). Ndongo leads the team with 7.9 rebounds per game. Freshman guard Naithan George (9.5 ppg.) has dished out a team best 4.9 assists per game, which ranks second in the ACC. The Yellow Jackets are second in the ACC in bench points per outing with 24.0 and are third in the ACC in rebounds per game with 38.0.
