
Orange Set For Final Regular Season Road Stretch

SYRACUSE, N.Y. - Â The Syracuse women's tennis team is set for their final road matches of the regular season this weekend. The Orange (9-7, 3-6 ACC) will travel to face Florida State (10-6, 4-3) in Tallahassee, Fla. on Friday, March 29 at 4:30 p.m. and No. 21 Miami (6-4, 4-2) in Coral Gables, Fla. on Sunday, March 31 at 11 a.m.

Friday marks the 12th all-time meeting between the Orange and the Seminoles. Florida State leads the series, 6-5. 'Cuse came out on top in their most recent showing on Feb. 24, 2023, winning the match 4-3. Sunday will be the 16th time that Syracuse is slated against Miami. The Hurricanes lead the series 14-2. In their most recent duel on Feb. 26, 2023, the Orange came out on top with a 5-2 victory.

Florida State is on a three-match winning streak, most recently sweeping Clemson, 4-0. The pairing of Ellie Schoppe and Anna Arkadianou began the success for the Seminoles. Vic Allen and Millie Bissett went on to win their doubles showing as well. Arkadianou also earned the first singles point in the number three spot, extending the Seminoles' advantage.

Miami's most recent match was against No. 24 Georgia Tech last Sunday. The Hurricanes suffered a 4-3 loss against the Yellow Jackets. 16th-ranked Alexa Noel was able to push past 45th-ranked Carol Lee of Miami for her 6th ranked win of the season. No. 107 Audrey Boch-Collins and Xinyi Nong contributed singles points as well, picking up wins in the number five and six spots.

This past weekend, Syracuse suffered two losses. In their contest against No. 5 Virginia, Miyuka Kimoto and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya started off the match with a 6-2 victory in the number one spot against the No. 14 duo of Melodie Collard and Elaine Chervinsky. No. 48 Kimoto then went on to battle for a singles victory against No. 25 Hibah Shaikh, winning 1-6, 7-6 (7-4), 10-8 in the number one spot. Polina Kozyreva claimed a victory in the number four spot. On Sunday at Virginia Tech, Anastasia Sysoeva claimed the lone point of the match in a 7-5, 6-2, singles victory.

Syracuse is set to return home next weekend for its final matches of the regular season, where they will take on Notre Dame on Friday, April 5 at 3 p.m. and Louisville on Sunday, April 7 at 11 a.m.
