Orange Swept By Seminoles; No. 21 Miami Next Up

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. - The Syracuse women's tennis team lost to Florida State (11-6, 5-3 ACC) 7-0 on Friday evening at the Scott Speicher Tennis Center.
In the doubles event, the Syracuse (9-8, 3-7) pairing of Shiori Ito and Emilie Elde lost to Anna Arkadianou and Ellie Schoppe in the number two spot, 6-3. The Seminoles secured the doubles point as Vic Allen and Millie Bissett defeated Miyuka Kimoto and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya in the number one spot, 6-3. The duo of Constance Levivier and Anastasia Sysoeva had the match score even at 4-4 against Cade Cricchio and Kristyna Lavickova in the number three spot before the match was abandoned.
The singles event began with a win for Arkadianou against Elde in the number three spot, 6-0, 6-1. Maelie Monfils followed up with a win versus Levivier in the number six spot, 6-4, 6-2. Florida State secured the match after Ito was beat by Lavickova in the number five spot, 6-2, 6-3. The number four spot was next to finish as Sysoeva lost to Bissett in a match that went the distance, 5-7, 6-1, 10-2.
After dropping the first set, 6-0, Kimoto battled in the second and third sets against Allen in the number one spot. Kimoto outlasted her opponent in the second set, 7-5, but Allen went on to take the tibreaking third set, 11-9. Kanapatskaya fought against Schoppe in the number two spot and took her match into a third set. Schoppe took the first set, 7-5. Kanapatskaya retaliated with a 6-3 win in set two, but lost in the tiebreaker, 10-6.
The Orange are set for their final road match of the regular season when they face No. 21 Miami on Sunday, March 31 at 11 a.m. The match will be streamed live on the ACCNX Cross Court Cast and will have live results available.
