Orange Debut at #8 in IRCA/IRA Team Points Poll

Syracuse's men's rowing team debuted at No. 8 in the first Ten Eyck Team Points Poll in the IRCA/IRA Coaches Poll on Wednesday. The April 24 poll marked the first team points poll as well as the first 2V8+ and 3V8+ polls of the season. Syracuse's varsity eight remains No. 7 this week after defeating Cornell and Navy by open water at home on Saturday. The Orange V8+ has been ranked No. 7 in all three polls this season.

The 2V8+ enters the poll at No. 9 and will have an opportunity to move up next week with races against No. 5 Dartmouth, No. 10 Boston University and No. 19 Georgetown on the horizon this weekend at the Lake Morey Invite in Lake Morey, Vt. The second varsity eight is 4-1 this season with its only loss being to California, who checked in at No. 2 this week.

In the 3V8+ poll, the Orange are ranked No. 8. Syracuse's third varsity eight won its first race of the season on Saturday beating Cornell and and Navy who rank No. 12 and No. 13, respectively in this week's poll.

Syracuse is ranked No. 8 in the Ten Eyck Team Points standings where Washington claims the top spot while Princeton and defending national champion California round out the top three. The Orange opposition this week all rank within the top-20 in team points as Dartmouth is No. 7, Boston University is No. 11 and Georgetown is No. 17.
