
Freeman Excels In McDonald's All-American Game

Donnie Freeman, who has signed a National Letter of Intent to join the Syracuse basketball program, showed his skills in the nationally televised McDonald's All-American game on Tuesday, April 2, in Houston.
Freeman tallied six points on two 3-pointers, had a rebound, and posted a squad-best +15 for the West team. The East defeated the West, 88-86.
He drained a buzzer-beating 3-pointer at the end of the third quarter that provided the West team with a 66-62 advantage.
A 6-9, 190 forward from Washington (D.C.), Freeman has spent the season with scholastic powerhouse IMG Academy (Fla.). Freeman is a five-star recruit and ranked 19th overall and third among power forwards in the Class of 2024 by ESPN.com. He is 21st overall and the fifth-rated power forward by 247sports.com. Rivals.com put Freeman 51st overall and sixth among power forwards.
Freeman has played AAU basketball for Team Takeover on the Nike EYBL circuit.
The 22nd Syracuse recruit to earn McDonald's All-American recognition, Freeman is also ticketed to play in the Allen Iverson Rounball Classic All-American contest on May 4 in Hampton, Va. He was one of 26 players selected to the 2024 Jordan Brand Boys National Team. Freeman is scheduled to compete in the Jordan Brand Classic on April 21 in Barclays Center.
