Orange Climb to No. 2

SYRACUSE, New York – Syracuse climbed one spot to No. 2 in this week's ILWomen/IWLCA weekly rankings released on Monday. It marks the Orange's highest ranking this season.

Syracuse earned two first-place votes and 470 points. Northwestern remained at No. 1, receiving 16 first-place votes and 495 points. Boston College moved up one spot to No. 3 (463 pts.), while Maryland dropped to No. 4 (431 pts.). Notre Dame rounds out the top five. The Fighting Irish received two first-place votes and 425 points.

The Orange posted a pair of victories last week to extend their winning streak to eight. Syracuse defeated Cornell, 17-4, on the road before beating Pittsburgh, 16-7, in the final home game of the regular season. Syracuse is 11-3 overall, 7-0 in ACC play.

Only two games remain on the Orange's schedule. Syracuse travels to Clemson to take on the Tigers on Saturday, April 13 at noon before concluding the regular season at Boston College on Thursday, April 18 at 5 p.m. The ACC Tournament is slated for April 24-28 in Charlotte.
