
Orange Tennis NCAA Tournament Run Ends

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Syracuse women's tennis team's NCAA postseason run concluded on Tuesday, May 21 as Miyuka Kimoto lost in the round of 32 in the singles event and the doubles pair of Kimoto and Viktoriya Kanapatskaya lost their match in the doubles round of 32.
After winning in the first round of the tournament, Kimoto matched up with Luciana Perry from Ohio State and lost, 6-1, 6-2. Her first round victory was the first for an Orange performer since 2018 when Gabriella Knutson advanced to the round of 16.
Later in the evening, Kimoto and Kanapatskaya took on the fourth-seeded Mia Kupres and Mary Stoiana from Texas A&M. The 'Cuse duo came out hot and took the first set, 6-4, before losing the second set, 6-1. The Orange battled through the finish, but ultimately lost the tie-breaking third set, 8-4. Syracuse has now wrapped up competition for the 2024 spring season.
