
Four Earn IWLCA All-America Honors

SYRACUSE, New York – Syracuse senior Katie Goodale and graduate student Emma Tyrrell headline a group of four members of the Orange selected to the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-America Teams. Goodale and Tyrrell were selected to the First Team. Graduate student Kate Mashewske earned second-team honors, while junior Olivia Adamson was a third-team honoree.

Goodale set a single-season school record with 44 caused turnovers this season. She leads the ACC and ranks 10th in the nation in caused turnovers per game. In addition, Goodale ranks fifth in the ACC in ground balls per game and has helped the 'Cuse defense hold its opponents to less than 10 goals 11 times.

Tyrrell leads the team and ranks in the top 20 in the nation in goals with 70 this season. Her 70 goals, 21 assists and 91 points are all career highs. Tyrrell is averaging 5.4 points per game in her last 14 contests. She recorded a career-high nine points (7g, 2a) in Syracuse's win against Yale in the NCAA Tournament quarterfinals.

Mashewske leads the ACC and ranks third in the nation in draw controls per game. She set the Syracuse single-season (220) and career (563) draw control marks this season. Mashewske ranks fifth on the Division I career draw controls record list and needs 13 draw controls to tie the NCAA single-season record.

Adamson has recorded career highs in points (81), goals (57) and assists (24) in 2024. She ranks second on the team in all three categories. Adamson has recorded three or more points in 17-of-21 contents this season, including a season-high six points in five games.

The No. 3 Orange face No. 2 Boston College in the national semifinals on Friday, May 24 at 5:30 p.m. at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina. The game airs on ESPNU and WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area.
