
Tyrrell Selected in Athletes Unlimited Draft

SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse graduate student Emma Tyrrell was one of 16 college players selected in the Athletes Unlimited draft on Wednesday, May 8. Tyrrell was chosen with the 12th pick.
The Mt. Sinai, New York native leads the Orange in points (76) and goals (58) this season. Tyrrell is one of 25 nominees for the Tewaaraton Award, which is given to the top collegiate player in the nation. She earned All-ACC First Team honors this season after helping Syracuse to its first outright ACC regular-season title.
Tyrrell recorded her 200th career point this season and she ranks ninth on Syracuse's all-time points list with 257 points. She also ranks ninth in career goals with 185.
The 16 collegiate players are invited to make their professional debut in the league's fourth season at USA Lacrosse Headquarters in Maryland this summer from July 18 to August 11.Â
