Syracuse senior Izabela Krakic is the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year. She is the second Syracuse student-athlete to win the honor in as many years. Coxswain Hannah Murphy earned the distinction last in 2023. Krakic rowed bow seat in the 2024 Orange varsity eight that won the 2024 ACC Championship, earned ACC Crew of the Year and finished eighth at the NCAA Championship. As a junior she was in six-seat for the Orange's first varsity eight ACC title in program history and placed eighth at the NCAA Championship. That boat was also the ACC Crew of the Year. During the summer of 2023, Krakic, who earned her degree in international relations and is attending law school in the fall, stroked the Syracuse 4- at 2023 Henley Royal Regatta, which was first time in program history that Syracuse competed at Henley. A native of Sveta Nedelja, Croatia, Krakic is a two-time Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete.
