Krakic and Ebel Named Academic All-District Honorees

Senior Izabela Krakic and junior Charlotte Ebel are 2023-24 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District honorees, recognizing their outstanding performance in the classroom and on the water.

Krakic, who earned the 2024 Atlantic Coast Conference Scholar-Athlete of the Year, earned her degree in international relations and is attending law school in the fall. She rowed bow seat in the 2024 Orange varsity eight that won the 2024 ACC Championship, earned ACC Crew of the Year and finished eighth at the NCAA Championship. As a junior she was in six-seat for the Orange's first varsity eight ACC title in program history and placed eighth at the NCAA Championship. That boat was also the ACC Crew of the Year. During the summer of 2023, stroked the Syracuse 4- at 2023 Henley Royal Regatta, which was first time in program history that Syracuse competed at Henley. A native of Sveta Nedelja, Croatia, Krakic is a two-time Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association (CRCA) Scholar-Athlete and a two-time All-ACC Academic Team selection.

Ebel, a triple major in women and gender studies, public relations and German language, literature and culture, is a two-time CRCA Scholar-Athlete and a two-time All-ACC Academic Team honoree. She rowed three-seat in the second varsity eight that won the ACC Championship in a course record of 6:19.406, and the Orange won the ACC Championship for the first time in program history. The Urbana, Ill. native rowed three-seat for the second varsity eight that placed thirteenth at the NCAA Championship.
