Vestri's 5th-Place Finish Wraps Up US Trials for Orange

Amanda Vestri took fifth in the 10,000-meter run at the U.S. Olympic Trials on Saturday evening, racing to a time of 32:11.00.
Weini Kelati (31:41.07) won the race and is the lone guarantee to represent the U.S. in Paris from the field, as she came into the race owning the Olympic Standard.
Vestri's finish concludes Syracuse's participation at the U.S. trials, but Orange are currently racing for other nations. Benne Anderson placed sixth in his heat of the 1,500-meter run during the first round of the German trials. He finished in 3:50.54 and earned a qualifying spot in Sunday's final. Jaheem Hayles raced to a time of 13.60 in the 110-meter hurdles at the Jamaican Track and Field Trials, earning 10th overall.
The Orange saw alum Freddie Crittenden III reach the Olympics on Friday night, qualifying in the 110-meter hurdles for the U.S. team with a new PR of 12.93 seconds. His qualification to Paris makes four-straight Summer Olympics with a track and field qualifier.
