Syracuse true freshman Benne Anderson bookended his stellar rookie track and field season with a fourth-place finish at the German National Championships.
Anderson ran to a time of 3:39.70, just 0.15 seconds off his career best, in the final to take fourth. Robert Farken (3:37.91) win the event.
An NCAA Championships qualifier and Honorable Mention All-American in his first season on campus, Anderson earned All-ACC honors with a fifth-place finish at the conference championship.
Anderson marks the fourth top-10 finish at an Olympic trials for a Orange student-athlete or alum. Freddie Crittenden III headlines the group after qualifying for the Paris Olympics in the 110-meter hurdles for the United States. Amanda Vestri took fifth in the 10,000-meter run at the U.S. trails and Jaheem Hayles turned in a top-10 finish in the 110-meter hurdles at the Jamaican trials, in addition to Anderson's fourth-place finish.
