
Treanor Named to U.S. Senior Team Coaching Staff

SPARKS, Maryland – Syracuse head women's lacrosse coach Kayla Treanor will serve as an assistant coach for the U.S. Women's Senior National Team that will compete at the 2026 World Lacrosse Women's Championship in Japan. USA Lacrosse announced the staff on Friday, Sept. 13.

Treanor is in her fourth season leading her alma mater. She has guided the Orange to three-straight NCAA Tournament appearances and two-consecutive trips to Championship Weekend. Syracuse shared the ACC regular-season title in 2023 and won its first outright crown in 2024.

The Niskayuna, New York native graduated from Syracuse in 2016 as one of the top players in program history. She was a four-time, first-team All-American and a three-time Tewaaraton Award finalist. Treanor earned the IWLCA Attacker of the Year award three times and finished her career with 260 goals and 393 points. She also earned the ACC Scholar Athlete of the Year award as a senior.

Treanor won a gold medal with the U.S. U19 World Championship in 2019 and then with the senior team in 2017 and 2022. She holds five U.S. national team records, including points in a game (12), tournament (43) and career (77). Treanor was a member of the All-World team in 2017 and 2022.
