The Syracuse football team returns after the bye for its second-straight conference matchup against Stanford.
Here's five things to know about the matchup:
1. Battle of the Block S
Syracuse and Stanford will meet for the first time ever on Friday night. Aside from the similarity of each school's primary logo, the two programs also now share a conference. Stanford joined the ACC this past summer and Friday night's game will be their first ACC matchup.
2. Upper Level (200-300 Level) Seats Remain

3. 44th Anniversary of the Dome
Friday's game comes 44 years to the day of the JMA Wireless Dome's grand opening. The building opened on Sept. 20, 1980, when the Orange defeated Miami (Ohio) to christen the new building.
For 44 years, the building has played host to some of Syracuse's most exciting moments on the field/court, played host to international recording artists and welcomed some of Central New York's largest special events.

4. Offensive Outburst
Fans attending Friday's game will be treated to see one of the nation's top offenses through the first few weeks of the season. Led by quarterback Kyle McCord, who leads the nation in passing touchdowns and is second in passing yards per game, Syracuse is third in the country to date in passing offense, averaging 367.5 yards per game.
5. ACC Implications
A win on Friday would place the Orange solely atop the conference standings. 'Cuse, Virginia and Boston College are the lone 1-0 teams in league play to date this season and SU is the only team of the three with a conference game this weekend.
The Orange will look to spoil the ACC opener for the Cardinal. This is Stanford's first game as an ACC team after joining the league this summer. Stanford is 1-1 on the season, but both matchups have come against out of conference foes.
