
Track Kicks Off 2025 with 2 Saturday Meets

The Syracuse track and field teams will head to a pair of meets this weekend at Penn State for the Natty Lion Challenge and Cornell for the Upstate Challenge.
NITTANY LION CHALLENGE:
Date: Saturday, Jan. 18
Time: 10 a.m.

ORANGE ENTRIES:
The day starts at 12:10 p.m. with Taleea Buxton, Madison Ceasar, Kirstyn Schechter, Peyton Rollins, Marissa Saunders and Olivia Etienvre competing in the women's 60-meter hurdles. The men follow starting at 12:20 p.m. with Isaiah Hayes, Emanuel Joseph, Isaiah Lewis and David Peters.
Rollins, Kitana Burgard and Olivia Garner will then compete in the women's 60-meter dash at 12:35 p.m. Trei Thorogood will represent the men at 12:50 p.m.
The finals of the 60-meter hurdles and 60-meter dash events will begin at 1:40 and 1:50 p.m., respectively, for student-athletes who advance.
The women's 400-meter dash will start at 2:40 p.m. with Ceasar and Shayla Ford competing. Shortly after Elijah Mallard and Xayvion Perkins will compete for the men at 2:50 p.m.
The individual events will conclude for the Orange with the 200-meter dash, which begins at 3:45 p.m. with Garner competing for the women and James Nmah racing for the men.
The last event of the day will be the men's 4-400-meter relay event at 6:35 p.m. Thorogood, Perkins, Nmah and Mallard are scheduled to run.

At 1:20 p.m. Connell Alford and Omar Alsaidi will compete in the men's mile. The first women's event begins at 1:35 p.m., where by Lizzie Bigelow, Maya Dubrovsky, Kayla Harding, Madeline Lutz and Lucy Zombek will also take on the mile.
Alexander Segarra will compete for the men's 500-meter run at 2:20 p.m. Shortly after, Mia Hernandez will represent the women at 2:25 p.m.
Blake Parker and Emily Rutkowski compete in the 1000-meters at 2:45 p.m.
Hernandez will race again at 3:30 p.m. in the women's 300-meter to complete the day.
