Puck Drop
​- It's back to Tennity for the Syracuse women's ice hockey team. The Orange are coming off a rescheduled series at Minnesota Duluth and look to return home for the first time in over a month.
- Syracuse has defended home ice well this season, sporting a 5-4-0 record at Tennity, including a 3-0-0 record at home in Atlantic Hockey America play. Last time out at Skytop, the Orange swept AHA foe Robert Morris 4-1 in each of the two games.
- The Mercyhurst series kicks off a heavy home month for the 'Cuse, which plays seven of its eight games at home in January. The lone outlier is the RIT series opener in Rochester.
- Mercyhurst braves the winter weather with a 9-11-1 overall record and a 4-4-0 mark in AHA play this season. The Lakers are 3-6-0 away from Mercyhurst Ice Center this year. Mercyhurst stepped out of league play to open the second half, sweeping Saint Michael's College at home.
- Friday and Saturday's games are set for FloHockey broadcasts with puck drop slated for 6 p.m. on Friday and 3 p.m. on Saturday.
Time at the ODR
- On Monday, January 6 the Orange took things outside to an outdoor rink, practicing down in Vestal, New York at The Farm Rink.
- Before practice, the Orange had a chance to meet some of the farm animals, like donkeys, horses, goats, before taking a hay ride up to the rink for practice.
- The Orange spent their practice outside, under the lights as a light snow fell, completing the ODR experience.
- After practice, Syracuse had a barbecue lunch and met with the owners of The Farm Rink, Larry and Christina Pierce.
Skate with the Orange is Back!
- On Monday, January 20, the Orange return to Clinton Square in downtown Syracuse for the annual Skate with the Orange!
- From 1- 3 p.m., Syracuse players will hit the ice to skate with fans.
- Syracuse marketing and promotions will be on hand with autograph posters and a special appearance from Mascot Hall of Famer, Otto the Orange!
Chart Climbing
- Graduate student and captain Tatum White is one of the program's all-timers in the faceoff circle.
- Since the 2020-21 season, White has won 1,097 draws, ranking fifth all-time in program history. She is just 42 wins away from moving into fourth place, with Margot Scharfe (2010-14) occupying fourth with 1,139 faceoff wins.
- White has already surpassed her annual average of 214 faceoff wins per year with 235 to date.
- Allie Kelley continues to storm up the Syracuse all-time career saves record. Her 1,798 saves are currently third all-time in program history. Kelley surpassed Lucy Schoedel (1785) and now Kelley sits in third all-time at Syracuse. Jenn Gilligan (2156) in second all-time at Syracuse.Â
- Kelley is the active career saves leader with 4,021 including her time at Quinnipiac and St. Anslem. She is currently third all-time in NCAA history. Lovisa Selander (RPI) is first all-time 4,167 saves from 2016-19. Kelley needs 146 more saves to become the NCAA all-time saves leader.
- Kelley is one of two players all-time in NCAA NC women's ice hockey with at least 4,000 saves.
