PUCK DROP
- It's the first trip to the first state for Syracuse women's ice hockey as the Orange are set to open Atlantic Hockey America action at the University of Delaware on Friday and Saturday.
- The 'Cuse and Delaware meet for the first time ever as the Fightin' Blue Hens make the jump to NCAA women's ice hockey.
- Friday's action at Rust Arena is slated for 6 p.m. with Saturday's follow up game starting at 3 p.m. in Newark (pronounced: New Ark).
- The Orange look to stay unbeaten on the road, carrying a 2-0-0 road record with them to northern Delaware. Syracuse is 2-4-0 overall, with the setbacks coming against two top-10 opponents in No. 6 Minnesota Duluth and No. 7 Quinnipiac.
- Delaware has already started play in the AHA, falling last weekend at home against Penn State. The Blue Hens picked up the program's first NCAA win with a 2-1 home decision against Holy Cross on Oct. 5.
ROAD WARRIORS
- On the road again, Syracuse looks to continue its strong road play dating back to 2024-25
- The Orange rounded out a much improved 2024-25 season with strong play away from Tennity, going 3-1-0 in its final two road series in conference play, sweeping Robert Morris by a combined 9-1 score in two games before spiting at Mercyhurst in the final road set of the 2024-25 regular season.
- This season, Syracuse is off to a 2-0-0 start in road games, sweeping Stonehill with a 3-2 win and an 8-2 victory.
- Syracuse will play a third-straight road game next Friday in Rochester against RIT before hosting the Tigers at home on Oct. 25.
HOME COOKIN'
- Syracuse is looking to continue its strong play at Tennity Ice Pavilion.
- Last season, the Orange went 9-9-0 at home, winning their final four home games of the season, including the final three of the regular season and the 3-2 double overtime win over Robert Morris in the AHA Quarterfinals
- The Orange have won four of their last eight at Tennity dating back to last season.
- The only setbacks in that span came during opening weekend against Minnesota Duluth, ranked sixth at the time, and last weekend against No. 7 Quinnipiac.
