SYRACUSE, N.Y.- The Orange men's soccer team is prepped to face Pittsburgh on the road on Saturday Oct. 18. The match is slated for 7 p.m. and will be streamed on ACC Network Extra.
'Cuse Update
The Orange tallied their fourth win in a row after defeating No.25 Southern Methodist 2-0 at home on Oct. 11.
Freshman Landon Darko scored his second goal of his career in the 43rd minute after he intercepted a bad pass by SMU. Senior Carlos Zambrano tallied his fourth goal of the season far from beyond the box in the 65th minute. A goal kick from Tomas Hut found Chimere Omeze in the middle of the field, who set Zambrano up for the shot.
Graduate Student goalkeeper Tomas Hut made one save, as well as collecting his seventh shutout of the season- the fourth in a row.
The Orange now hold a 3-3-2 record at home and a 6-4-2(32-0) record overall and stand in 5th place in the conference.

Scouting the Panthers
Pittsburgh (4-6-3, 0-4-1) comes off a scoreless tie after facing Denver at home on Oct. 14.
Panther goalkeeper Jack Moxom tallied two saves against Denver. The junior has 37 saves this season. Graduate student Arnau Vilamitjana leads the team with five goals and three assists this season.
The Panthers were projected to finish in 3rd place in the conference this year according to the ACC Preseason Coaches Poll. Pittsburgh currently stands in 15th place.
In 2024, Pittsburgh finished their season tied for 4th place with a 4-2-2 conference record. The Panthers' season ended in the third round of the NCAA Championship after a 2-0 loss to Vermont, who would then go on to win the College Cup.
THE SERIES
- This match marks the 27th meeting between the two teams. Pittsburgh leads the series 11-10-5.
- The last time the two teams faced off, Syracuse won on its home field 2-0, taking down the then-ranked No.3 Panthers.
- Syracuse has won the past two meetings in a row, keeping Pittsburgh from a win over Syracuse since 2021.
- The Orange are 3-1-0 on the road, while Pittsburgh is 4-1-3 at home.
