
Women's Basketball Travels to Virginia Tech Thursday

Syracuse women's basketball (8-13, 2-8 ACC) travels to Blacksburg, Va., to take on Virginia Tech (15-7, 6-5 ACC) on Thursday, Feb. 6. Tip-off inside of Cassell Coliseum is slated for 6 p.m., with live coverage on ACC Network.
The Orange travel south after a narrow defeat at the hands of Virginia last Sunday, 70-67. Sophomore Sophie Burrows led the team in scoring, delivering a career-best 22 points in the contest. Burrows has notched 15+ points mark in four of the past five games for SU. Senior Kyra Wood recorded her sixth double-double of the season, thanks to 18 points and grabbing 15 boards, tying a career-high in rebounds.
Virginia Tech hopes to end their three-game home stand with a win, splitting the first two games 1-1. VT suffered a 77-61 loss to No. 3 Notre Dame last Thursday, before getting back in the win column against SMU, 79-71, last Sunday. Matilda Ekh led the Hokies with 23 points, backed up by 21 points from Carleigh Wenzel.
'Cuse is 8-10 all time against Virginia Tech, losing the last four contests. SU's most recent win came during the 2019-20 season, and their last win in Blacksburg, VA came a season earlier with a 75-73 overtime victory. The Orange are 3-4 against the Hokies all time inside of Cassell Coliseum.
