SYRACUSE, New York --Â No. 6 Syracuse gets the 2025 season underway on Friday, Feb. 7 when it hosts UAlbany in the JMA Wireless Dome. Opening draw is set for 1:30 p.m.

Season and individual tickets are on sale now at Cuse.com/tickets. Friday's game will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra. Fans can also listen to the action on WJPZ 89.1FM and get live updates on social media (@CuseWlax).

The Orange ended the 2024 season with a 16-6 record and advanced to the national semifinals for the 10th time in program history and the third time in four years. Syracuse posted an 8-1 record in league play to claim its first outright ACC title.

THE ORANGE IN SEASON OPENERS
Syracuse had its 16-game winning streak in season openers snapped last season against top-ranked Northwestern. Overall, the Orange are 21-6 in the first game of the season since the program began in 1998.

SCOUTING THE GREAT DANES
UAlbany won the America East regular-season title in 2024 with a 5-1 league record. The Great Danes were 8-10 overall.

Syracuse fans will see a familiar face on the UAlbany sideline. Katie (Rowan) Thomson is in her seventh season at the helm of the Great Danes' program. She ranks second on the 'Cuse all-time points list with 396.

SERIES HISTORY
Friday's game will be the 18th all-time meeting with UAlbany. The Orange have won the previous 17 contests between the two teams.Â

The Great Danes visited the JMA Wireless Dome last March. UAlbany scored 48 seconds into the game to give the Great Danes the early lead. Syracuse responded with a 5-1 scoring run and led, 6-2, at the end of the first quarter. Back-to-back Great Danes' goals brought UAlbany within three, 7-4, before the Orange tallied five unanswered goals. Ava Poupard found the back of the net with five seconds on the clock to cut the 'Cuse lead to 12-5 at intermission.

Syracuse continued to pull away in the second half, leading by as many as 10 goals, and posted a 20-11 victory. Emma Ward, Olivia Adamson and Emma Tyrrell scored four goals apiece to pace the 'Cuse offense.
